The Clare County History Park, including the museum, Dover School, blacksmith shop, and log cabins, is open every Saturday of May through September from 1 – 4 p.m.
The History Park is located at the corner of Dover and Eberhart roads northeast of Clare. It’s a great place to learn about local history such as Spikehorn Meyers, Isaiah Leebove, the Ott family, and much more. Find out why gangsters visited Clare County and why a few even settled here! You might even get a chance to learn a bit of blacksmithing at our working blacksmith shop.
The historic Bell-Knapp Cabin was moved, restored, and received a dedication ceremony in 2024. Learn more by viewing our latest newsletter. Photos of the work are on the project page.
